I'm reading it on Kissmanga, on Ep1_017, whatever that means..

I'm enjoying the darkness in the manga, it's quite the contrast from the anime. Shadi seems like a savage lol

YGO Manga starts off decent with a variety of games and Atem being pretty badass in how he disposes of opponents. Shame it became a generic kiddy Shonen with only slight horror elements once Duel Monsters became it's main drawing point.

The manga is better than the anime once it gets going, but then it turns to shit after BC.

I liked the variety in games as-well from having watched the Toei anime. It seemed more episodic at times, but much more entertaining to me (or at-least I think that I think that). The situations the gang found themselves in seemed much more realistic as-well and not something a children's card-game can just solve. It could have been like Detective-Conan just with games.

I'd actually probably say that was already well in the works after the Shadi mini-arc, considering the art was already streamlined from the wacky, dark carnival style of the first 2 volumes into something "refined" but more cartoony by the Death-T arc, and by that arc it was already Duelist Kingdom Prologue anyways. I however found that by late Battle City and in the World of Memories arc the art became pretty damn good for a weekly, although the plot contrivances getting terrible by the conclusions of both arcs is a major detractor in quality.
