Is Saiyan arc Goku still slower than Kinto-un after Kaio’s training? I find it hard to believe that he can’t exceed its speed by this point.. Given the situation, I figure he could’ve arrived at the battle faster by using Kaioken, potentially saving Piccolo. What do you think?

Wasn't he worried about his stamina if he flied to get there hence he used his nimbuss cloud instead? He could also use Kaioken while he was traveling on Snake way to get into Earth ASAP. Maybe King Kai warned him about it though.

Well yeah, but don’t you think as he was noticing his friends get slaughtered he would try to get there ASAP instead of worrying about his stamina?

Every bit of Ki counted against 1 opponent almost on his base level and another one far above that one. Even with Goku having no real reference on how strong they were other than being above Kaio, he knew it was best to be conservative in his stamina just in case it was a single difference that settled the battle when he only had 2 Senzus heading to the battle iirc.

This would be made questionable later on when we're shown eating 1/3 of a Senzu works relatively the same to the whole, but that's more a contrivance of the Freeza Arc (and one of many, at that) than a plot hole of the Saiyan Arc.

Wait, when did someone consume as little as 1/3 of a senzu bean?

That snake way definitely suggests travel speed scales linearly.

He goes what almost 6 months of flying to 2 days. That's insane. Did anyone ever scale that?
