I then finished reading it. I found it a pretty good manga in general, despite feeling a bit bored while reading it sometimes. But it kept my interest and made me wish a part 2 for it.

The final match with Sannoh was really thrilling and intense... that was the 1st time I was REALLY cheering up for Shohoku, and their victory being solidified by Hanamichi's score was very well made. Not to mention Sakuragi and Rukawa touching hands for the fist time and then going back to their usual selves lol.

I was kind of sad they didn't win the nationals, but I think that's for the better since if they ended up doing so I'd call it protagonism... but Akagi can left the team feeling very proud considering he didn't just qualify for the nationals but defeated the strongest and until then unbeatable Sannoh.

With the end of the summer championship, Shohoku now has Ryota and Mitsui as the main players, with Hanamichi still working hard to get back to the Basketball (although we don't know if he will ever play for Shohoku again). Ryota is now the captain and Rukawa is in a trip through the Japan.

After being rejected so many times, Hanamichi has finally found his true love... the Basketball :kermit :kermit

I've heard the anime is pretty shit compared to the manga due to its peace.

Yeah the manga is much better. The games don't feel that dragged out compared to professional basketball games and it's very fluid unlike the shitty animation in the anime.
