This one makes it seem like absorbing Piccolo alone would take him to the peak of his power in that form. That's how it always sounded to me.

Cell: “Cheer up! If I absorb life extract of your magnitude, I'll be able to draw considerably close to my perfect form!"”

This one makes it seem like absorbing a bunch of guys as powerful as Piccolo would eventually allow him to reach a level close to perfection.

So what do you guys think?

Methinks Toriyama didn't know exactly where he was going to take Cell at this point. The Viz lines don't really make sense given how events unfold after Gingertown, and Herms line looks even worse in this context.

Sounded more like saying absorbing Piccolo's life-energy'd help his goal in attaining his perfect-power, which makes sense since Piccolo himself was on-par with #17.

Given that cell tells piccolo he can't reach perfection without the androids in the next few panels, the herms line makes even less sense.

Cell said the humans he absorbed were more than needed, but he didn't say the same thing about
a potential absorption of Piccolo. So, i still view Cell + Humans > Cell + Piccolo
