So, SSJ Vegeta>SSJ2 Gohan (Buu Saga)?

If Goku didn't know Vegeta could go SSJ2 andd did not react when Vegeta said they're both stronger than Gohan...

Gohan and Goku probably thought Vegeta was referring as SSj hence they were shock to learn that Vegeta has SS2 later. The only retcon here was that Toriyama probably forgot that Gohan can turn SS2 at will with no anger needed.

That doesn't mean he didn't have some frustration still inside him.

Videl is already healed up and the only thing for him to do is to avenge her it wasn't until when Kibito told him to turn into SSj that his mind was change.
