Soft-Reset Shiny Hunting

Have you guys ever done this to get a shiny before? Post your results below.

I've personally never done this. I've encountered only two shinies (sans Red Gyarados) and I found them both by chance. I have thought about doing soft-resets to get a shiny Ho-oh in my HeartGold playthrough, but it can take a long time so maybe not.

When I completed my Hoenn Pokedex on Emerald about 10 years ago, I tried hundreds and hundreds of times to get a shiny Totodile. It failed. I don't have the patience for this sort of crap 2

I haven't and wouldn't do it, given it's common knowledge that soft-resetting for a shiny will cause it to have pretty shit IVs.
