Some fun theory that might explain...

might explain the ssj multiplier lessening a lot by the Boo saga:

Base - 3
SSJ - 150 (50x Base)

Goku improves 50x by obtaining FPSSJ
Base - 150
FPSSJ - 7500 (still 50x Base)
SSJ2 - 15000 (2x FPSSJ)
SSJ3 - 60000 (4x SSJ2)

Maximum ssj power correlates with base power
SSJ3/FPSSJ = 60000/7500 = 8x (Base gets the same boost)
FPSSJ/Base (8x150) = 7500/1200 = 6x (50x drops to 6x just like that, eh?)

Someone got it?

Got it... I think, but 7500/1200 is 6.25, not 6. Why is there no decimal?

Just rounding it.

Oh, and this theory is from jackjack, actually. I struggled to understand, but when I did I found it pretty good.

Look at SSJ2 and 3 pretty much operating as powered up versions of SSJ... so a SSJ3 would basically be a SSJ 8x stronger. Since the SSJ got stronger (although through new versions of it), base would also get stronger, even though the normal SSJ is still stagnant. That's basically it, I guess. So unlocking a new form would be like "powering up the SSJ" and, therefore, increasing base.

The problem with it though is that Vegeta doesn't have SSJ3 in the Boo saga, which wouldn't make his base that strong (it'd get just 2x more powerful, which is the SSJ2 multiplier). I wished I could ask jack it.
