Something interesting regarding the timelines

We know that the Trunks that killed Freeza and Cold specified that he came from 20 years into the future:

Yet, three years later, he stated he came from 17 years into the future (can't find exactly where he said that, but I know it was stated).

And we know the Cell that ended up in the main timeline also came from a timeline further into the future compared to the one Trunks came. So is it possible that the Trunks who came three years later on and aided the Z fighters in fighting Cell was a different Trunks from the one that was shown killing Freeza and Cold... and that the one who killed Freeza and Cold was originally from Cell's timeline, and was the one murdered by him (it'd at least match the 17 -- 20 years thing)?

It's because he showed up 3 years later in the future.

784 -> 764 (Trunks saga) = 20 years
784 -> 767 (Android arc) = 17 years

That would be too dark for me IMO.
