Kibito considered for Gohan impossible to lift up the Z Sword as numerous Kaioshins tried to and failed, in which I think South Kaioshin should have tried as he is the strongest among them.

Which implies that South Kaioshin > SSJ2 Gohan at the Budokai 25.

However, SSJ Gohan could actually lift it with too much struggle, which I think makes it appear as SSJ Gohan > South Kaioshin > SSJ2 Gohan at the Budokai 25.

I have: Buff Boo = South Kaioshin + Kid Boo > Super Boo.

South Kaioshin may be weaker than SSJ Gohan, but that would mean his absorption into Boo was not an addition of battle power similar to Dai Kaioshin.

South Kaioshin strengthing Buu's strength, sounds more like headcanon. I think the best route to go with is the difference in between them (Buff Buu and Kid Buu) being inexistent.

They literally state that Buff Boo was stronger than Evil Boo though.

Super Buu =/= Kid Buu

Nothing other than Kid Buu's size is said to have decreased. Of course, I'm not of SSJ3 Goku is the stronkest mindset, just that Kid Buu is far above his (Goku's) league.

No need to view that as a strength feat. I think Gohan was just the one destined to pull out the sword.
