SSJ Kid Trunks~SSJ Vegeta?

Vegeta was relaxed when he was dodging Base Zarbon's multiple kicks.However, when he was sparring with Trunks in gravity room, he
was showing more effort to dodge his multiple punches and Trunks managed to touch him once. Since, Vegeta/Base Zarbon gap is already
a small one, does that mean SSJ Kids were at the same level as SSJ Adults?

Vegeta knocking Trunks on his ass would suggest they're not comparable.

I don't think the instances are really comparable.

While I think the gap is probably smaller than most would like to admit, there's still a sizable gap there.

The only surprise to vegeta is that Trunk's was even able to touch him. That does not imply a small gap.

Vegeta could've also been worn down a bit from training while Trunks could be starting off fresh. I also think the gap isn't huge (like multifolds), but it's quite substantial.
