I believe Vegeta stated that he and Goku surpassed Cell Games Gohan during their fight in the Boo Saga. Someone lay the smackdown here if I'm wrong, but until then I'm going with Goku on this one. Stronger and better skilled.

I suppose Gohan's rage may play a factor in this, and could always sway the arguments.

Goku at best is equal to Gohan, I think, considering Vegeta didn't say he surpassed Gohan until he fully transformed to Super-Saiyan 2.

So Gohan wins most likely.

As already stated, it wasn't until Goku used his full power against Vegeta that he was even stated to have surpassed Gohan and even then, the indications in the manga by Piccolo remark that it wasn't anything massive either.

Considering the incredibly short burst from Goku at the time, really leaves little to think that he only used a relatively small amount of his power to finish off Yakon.

There is no such thing as a suppressed SSJ2. Goku was fully SSJ2 against Yakon, only it was for a moment,
so Vegeta didn't have the time to properly gauge it.

Gohan wins. Goku at full-power isn't way stronger than Kid Gohan, anyway.

Firstly, There is no Kid Gohan that achieved SSJ2. Gohan was clearly at the teenage era of his life at this point. Second, Gohan at this point would have the power, but not the skill to defeat his father at the same level. Gohan did not have the passion to improve like his Father, and would need some sort of motive to defeat Goku.

Goku is indeed not way stronger, but he is the better fighter, has greater battle experience, more experience with Super Saiyan 2, deadlier combos at his disposal, and a mindset that is more suited for battle. All of these factors add up to make a pretty valuable difference that would give Goku the higher chance of winning.

Strength isn't the only reason why Goku would be victorious, but I agree with your conclusion. I doubt that Gohan would get any additional rage boosts in this battle, because he's fighting someone that is close to him, and the Daizenshuu indicates that his anger reached its peak when he went Super Saiyan 2:

I give this to Goku due to experience, Vegeta said Goku surpassed Gohan, Goku said he and Vegeta were dead even but Piccolo was skeptical on how much stronger Vegeta was compared to Gohan. So I go with SSJ2 Goku/Majin SSJ2 Vegeta >= Enraged SSJ2 Kid Gohan > SSJ2 Kid Gohan. I think that's fair.
