Depends of what kind of boost did Goku received from his SSjin4 transformation against Baby but one thing we know that he's strong enough to survive against Baby's version of Spirit Bomb that was made by the earth people with no damage. If Super Boo loses then what about Boo's other form.

However, the anime heavily implies this through the gap between Goku's base/SSJ forms and SS4 seeming to lower through each battle based on his feats, which shouldn't have really been the case if it was a multiplier. Not only that, but the only times in which his SS4 form was stated to have become stronger were when having his allies unlock his full SS4 power against Baby and when having their Ki allow him to go beyond his limits against Yi Xing Long.

Elder Kaioshin wanted to bring out Goku's tail again so he could transform into a Super Saiyan 4. The form is the only way to access Goku's dormant power.

Yeah, I always found that weird. SSJ4 brings out all of the Saiyan's dormant power, but potential unlock brings it out far beyond their natural potential.

It's no different than Goku being powered up beyond his limits by the others during the Yi Xing Long fight. There isn't a transformation that goes beyond limits all on its own, so it wouldn't make sense for Super Saiyan 4 to do that.
