The Bottom Line! Buu Vs Gotenks

This is one of the thread that is still debatable but has not been beat to death. Anyway who is stronger? Both can be stronger than each other according to their feats and statements.

We saw Gotenks humiliating Buu and was so close to finishing him up but his SS3 run out. So whether Boo was holding back or not is debatable.

After Boo absorbed Gotenks. He told Gohan that he can't let someone stronger than him which could mean that he was just toying Gotenks all along and probably buying Gohan for some time. Here, he stated that only Gohan was able to surpassed him and not Gotenks. Some said that Gotenks is a fusion so he can't be stronger than Boo forever.

It would be pretty risking of Boo to nearly allow himself to be killed, don't you think? After all, he didn't know how much time Gotenks has left.

If Boo were indeed holding back, he wouldn't have let himself get hammered by Gotenks during the later part of their fight.

Also, Boo's statement doesn't necessarily remove Gotenks as a superior, since it merely said he wouldn't allow someone stronger than him to exist.

Boo: “Far, far, waa~~aay far away, I felt a strong power…I won’t allow anyone to have a power stronger than mine…”

Hardly something he'd need to bring up with Gotenks when the fusion ran out not long after Boo got beaten up.

Also, there's this statement.

Chapter: 498 (DBZ 304), P7.4-5
Context: after Boo disappears
Trunks: “Even if he really is still alive, it doesn’t matter! That jerk was helpless against Gohan! [Gohan] was about as strong as our Super Gotenks!”
Goten: “He was even stronger.”
Trunks: “Really? …Yeah…Just a little bit.”

You can say it's just Trunks being arrogant, but their comparable performances paint a different light, plus even Trunks doesn't have enough of his dad's ego to ignore the obvious if Gohan was far above Gotenks.

In conclusion, SS3 Gotenks > Evil Boo is pretty clear.

Gohan fought Boo at his best, sensed the power of Gotenks, and was perfectly fine allowing Gotenks to take him on alone while taking the sidelines.

Gotenks>Super Boo.

About Boo's line on only Gohan being stronger than him, Gotenks is hardly considered an actual being when he only exists for 30 minutes. He's also ignored when Elder Kaioshin makes his statement about the 3 masters or the universe, where he excludes Gotenks for Vegeta's sake.

According to Daizenshuu 2, Gotenks and Boo fought evenly. Make whatever you want out of this.

More like the entry is nerfing Gotenks. He clearly had the upperhand on the fight, Boo got his ass handed to the fused boys. That fight wasn't even at all.

Yes, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks can fight equally with Boo, but we saw him fight better than Boo.

tl;dr - That entry is just a means to say Gotenks is bare minimum Boo's equal. 3

I think they are equals. Gotenks wouldn't be so eager in fighting Super Boo later on if Super Boo demonstrated being superior in their fight.

He was only eager to "fight him" because he needed to absorb him... That was his entire plan.

I think he's saying that Boo led Gotenks into thinking he's the stronger of the two so that he'd have an easier time goading the kids into fusing later. It's possible but I doubt that Boo thought that far in advanced and would let himself possibly get killed before enacting his plan.

I've always loved how gotenks beats buu up with physical attacks, something that's repeatedly been shown to not even hurt buu and everyone is always like "Gotenks almost kills him!" They're stated to be nearly equal, and nothing contradicts that.

Especially since buu tells gohan he was stalling for time after Gotenks said he had a time limit and buu sensed gohan. Buu could have regenerated at any time during the pummeling.

Yeah, what Mikey said. I think it's possible that Super Boo allowed himself to be beaten around to goad the kids into fusing later on, so he could execute his plan of absorbing them.

It'd be risky though to get himself nearly killed, but I don't think Boo'd actually be killed there. I think he'd maybe quickly regenerate before they could perform the KMHMH and put an enough to the beatdown he was suffering. Can't really say tbh, I just think Boo isn't weaker because of what he said to Gohan, that he won't allow someone to be stronger than him. It seems he only includes Gohan regarding the fighters that surpassed him. Gotenks can be his equal though, I'm fine with that.

This is obvious. Gotenks was shit stomping Boo.

Not that it's impossible, but I find it odd that Boo would've been faking his outrage the moment he emerged from those rocks. Boo seemed genuinely pissed off right there. The way he looked when Gotenks countered with his own mouth blast gave me the impression that he wasn't expecting Gotenks to be as tough as he ended up being. Since Boo was attacking in rage, it's possible that this is why Gotenks was able to gain the upperhand.

Whatever the case may be, I think most of us can at least agree that Super Boo isn't stronger than Gotenks.
