As we all know, Gotenks is often playful, stubborn and cheekily overconfident. Even when the fate of the Earth hung in the balance in the Super Buu fight, he wanted to put on a show and milk it instead of straight up going for the win/kill from the start. Not only was this very risky, but the fight didn't live up to how great Gotenks envisioned it.

What are your thoughts on the execution of his portrayal? Do you think he should have been presented in a much more serious way considering the importance that was placed on the plan of using fusion to beat Buu, or that he's fine the way he is and his behaviour served as a suitable contrast to the more serious Buu Arc moments?

Definitely went over the board. At first it seemed like he was finally gonna get serious and angry when buu ate everyone but it didn't last long.He is way too cocky

In hind-sight I don't really have nearly as much of a problem. I thought Gotenks and Super-Boo had some decent chemistry as-well.

While it was fun watching it but it doesn't make sense in terms of story IMO. Trunks lost his father and Goten lost his brother and mother thanks to Boo and yet both would rather showoff their skills and techniques than avenging their family.

The Boo arc was a throw back to the more comedic days of early Dragon Ball. It does make sense for Gotenks to be comedic in nature. However, I do agree that he should have had some agency.
