This is a theory i just thought of when i was reading the SSJ Z-Sword Gohan sections in the manga to update my PL list.
What if none of the five Kaioshins that ruled in the Kid Boo era actually tried to pull the Z-Sword out? According to official sources, the Kaioshins can be replaced, which is the case with Old Kai who was a Kaioshin millions of years before the South, Grand, West, North and Eastern Kais. Here is what Kibito stated:
Chapter: 471 (DBZ 277), P10.2-4
Kaioshin: “I want Gohan to use the Z Sword to defeat Majin Boo. Knowing him, he should definitely be able to use it.”
Kibito“A-are you serious, Lord Kaioshin…?!! There’s no way that a human or the like would be able to use the Z Sword!! That legendary sword which not merely myself, but numerous Kaioshins were utterly unable to handle…”
Chapter: 472 (DBZ 278), P4.3
Kibito: “It’s no use…There’s no way that a human would be able to pull out something which many Kaioshins challenged but were unable to pull out…”
Notice that in none of those statements it is mentioned that Eastern Kaioshin tried to pull the Z-Sword out himself, for instance. This strenghtens my hypothesis that none of HIS era Kaioshins tried to pull it out. Now, you might be asking why they didn't try to pull it out. I think that a fairly plausible theory would be that they only try to do so when they're in the end of their lifespans, in the end of their duties as Kaioshin, or they prime if you might think about it that way. It's such a legendary feat that it should only be attempted when you're in your prime imo. Now, we all know what happened to 4 out of the 5 Kaioshins, right? Two were killed and the other two were permanently absorbed by Boo. That's why they didn't try to do it imo.
This could possibly help with the South Kai\SSJ Gohan\Kid Buu power relations and could possibly invalidate the "South Kaioshin < SSj Gohan" claim.
What do you guys think?
