The infant Cell in the tank might have survived :troll

And, by the time he comes out, either Buu has destroyed the world or, if Z fighters beat Buu, he can't do shit against them in his imperfect form.

Credit goes to dbgtFO from Kanzenshuu.

1) The Original Timeline
Age 764: Goku kills Freeza and Cold.
At some point between Freeza's death and the wakening of the androids, Goku dies because of the heart virus.
Age 766: Trunks is born.
Age 767: Androids kill Vegeta, Piccolo etc. Only Gohan survives and there are no Dragon Balls.
Age 780: Gohan is killed by #17.
Age 784: Trunks loses to the androids and goes back in time to give Goku heart medicine in age 764, creating AT1.
Age 785: Trunks makes his 2nd trip to AT1 to help out against the androids in age 767. He then returns and defeats the androids with shut down device.
Age 788: Cell kills Trunks and goes back further in time, creating AT2.

2) Altered Timeline 1
Age 764: Trunks(OT) kills Freeza and Cold.
Age 766: Trunks is born.
Age: 767: Androids attack, but are eventually defeated by the use of the shut down device, that the Dragon Team stumble upon. Trunks(OT) returns home.

3) Altered Timeline 2
Age 763: Cell(OT) arrives from the future.
Somehow Cell(OT) ends up dead. Let's just say, that the androids in their random rampage lucked out and destroyed the very field Cell was developing in(as Cell first reached his 1st form a little while after the initial Android attack, leaving enough time for the androids to destroy him before he could complete his development).
Age 780: Gohan is killed by #17.
Age 784: Trunks loses to the androids and goes back in time to give Goku heart medicine in age 764, creating AT 3.
Age 785: Trunks makes his 2nd trip to AT3 to help out against the androids in age 767. He then returns and kills the androids with superior power.
Age 788: Trunks kills Cell.

4) Altered Timeline 3(Main Timeline)
Since Trunks(AT2) travels to a date(764) after Cell(OT) had already arrived(763), Cell(OT)'s existence is a part of the history of AT3, thus there were 2 versions of Cell(OT) travelling back in time, one somehow got killed before getting to absorb the androids, thus barely making AT2 different from the Original Timeline and the other is the Cell we know, who held the Cell Games and got killed by Gohan.

So that was the story?

Think that Cell traveled to the "Present" and the Trunks Timeline, had come out of nowhere.

So the Cell that killed Trunks, I travel to 2 different past?

The newer Chozenshuu removed the 4th timeline entirely. I can understand why now.

It got it wrong at-least in-terms of date I think. The Cell-Games, if they did happen in time-line 4, couldn't have happened in the same year. It'd have to be that time-line's Cell and that'd be years down the road.

i guess timeline 3 trunks destroyed the androids in timeline 4 too when he visited there and got their remote control. Cell stays imperfect and is killed by Vegeta, Goku or whoever else. But then idk why Cell didn't just end up in timeline 4, if that's where Trunks was trying to go to. Maybe a new person using the time machine creates a new history every time, but that wouldn't make sense either - because Trunks from timeline 2 would have already created timeline 1 by using his time machine and going into timeline 1, so then timeline 3 Cell would have to create a 5th timeline, rather than entering timeline 1.

He ended-up in a new time-line, because he went back even further than Trunks’ previous time-travel (a year earlier).

In that case what he said doesn't make sense, because Cell didn't create a new (5th) history/timeline. He ended up in the same one as Trunks (history 1), which is literally what I said in my post. What a waste of time. Next time fucking read before you post cryptic bullshit as usual.
