SSB Vegetto wasn't too much stronger than a Zamasu weaker than the version Trunks sliced through, so Trunks likely does the same to Vegetto.

I'd like to at least believe Trunks' speed and raw power weren't much higher than his regular Rage state since it was shown he barely lost any power from his final attack against Zamasu, so if Vegetto can dodge circles around Trunks which Giant Zamasu couldn't due to his sluggishness, he wins. In a straight up fight he loses big time tho

I agree with IoG. Trunks speed didn't seem to go up, so Vegetto blitzes.
