I think Cloud takes him down, so he stops at five. This is assuming Link is not haxed out with tons of magical gear. Just the basics for everyone.

He-Man throws D into the sun, metaphorically speaking (or maybe not). He stands no chance against 6 and 7.

The light novel version of D solos this gauntlet pretty easily, with such haxed feats as getting power from a galactic rotation and defeating a universe busting God. His anime self is a lot weaker though, definitely not beating any incarnation of Zoro.

Damn, CC. I didn't even know about that light novel stuff. Most of what I remember comes from Bloodlust.

It's been a while, and my OP knowlage is limited at best, but D, even from the anime, has some impressive strength, speed and regeneration, as well as durability, no? I thought he would give Zoro a pretty good run.

In any case, I think General Grevious is overrated and should go down easily, assuming we can break down the battles 1v1.

The Vampire Hunter D series started out and still primarily is, light novels, quite a few. So yeah, there's been quite a lot of room for such crazy feats.

Current Zoro, or even any of the Grand Line incarnations of him are a whole different league from his initial self. Even initial Zoro should be above building level based on how he handled the destruction of the building he was in, as well as Supersonic in speed based on scaling from later characters. Iirc, anime D isn't that level of strength, though possibly comparable in speed.

Pardon my noobness, but when you say "light novel", is that just what it sounds?

It's rare to see an anime character who has an origin outside of manga, at least for me.

It that an uncommon thing for anime, generally? Light novels?

(Are these light novels in English by chance?)

Light Novels are basically novels with manga illustrations, which are equally as popular as average manga in Japan. There's actually quite a few anime series based on light novels, two notable examples being Baccano! and Sword Art Online.
