Vegeta's ego in Cell Arc.

After reading the entire arc in a day, I noticed just how huge this guy's ego. Just look at these scans where he was overrating himself.

Clouded my ass, he has always been full of himself, pre and well post SSJ. Anytime he gets a power up he says he has surpassed everyone and is the strongest, blah, blah, blah... How many times did he do it against Freeza? Even after getting his ass kicked.

Vegeta is the epitome of egotistical.

Vegeta seemed incredibly egotistical in the Cell arc, even compared to himself on Namek. On Namek, he admitted when he needed some help, but even after getting his ass kicked by 18 and Cell, and he couldn't bring himself to admit shit. Sure, by the Games he admitted Goku was stronger than him, but it took a whole arc to get to that point.

It took like 75% of the Freeza arc for him to admit he needed help. Same basic difference, just different circumstances.

I will correct myself and say SSJ made him cockier, but he was already so full of himself, I dont think it clouded anything. He never had great judgement when talking shit about enemies he got beat up by at least once prior.

He was less reckless in the Freeza arc, alright? Jeez. He took things at a safe measure for the most part.

I've always completely understood against cell. It's the same kind of idiocy like goku giving cell a senzu.

He just never expected cells second transformation to ridiculously dwarf his first like that.

When Toriyama said that he likes keeping Vegeta around, he probably meant that by stretching the series.
