Vegeta's statement vs Cell's statement

For the sake of the thread let's assume that the Cell Saga ended with Trunks killing Semi PC before Cell could reach his perfect form, which statement do you believe is more credible/reliable?

Vegeta thinking Perfect Cell wouldn't beat him:

Also, the narrative has pushed beforehand the idea of Cell having unimaginable power, but this is way before the saiyans ever entered the rosat:

In my books, Cell got 2x a boost when he absorbed 17, and his final transformation was implied to be an even greater deal, which means he'd become 2x+ stronger. Vegeta was at most 1.5x stronger than Semi Cell, so I'd believe Perfect Cell would screw him.

Yeah, Cell's prediction seems more accurate to me if this was about to end DB.

The only arguments I can use to support Vegeta's statements are him being previously right about Semi PC and Gero's data being unreliable.
