So, it recently got announced Viz are licensing the Hokuto no Ken manga, using the version of the manga featured in its Ultimate Edition with new covers and a few colour pages similar to how Viz used the JoJonium editions for its release of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Parts 1-3. It's scheduled to release in June sometime next year.

It's about time the manga got licensed when considering its niche yet strong following as well as how spinoff material such as video games have boosted its popularity in recent years. Hopefully, Viz publish it to the end rather than cancelling it like the two previous attempts at licensing the series in English and don't drop it like they did with the Full Colour versions of DB's Cell and Boo Arcs. It'll also be good to have the art in high-quality as previous English scans of the manga weren't the best for some volumes. This also seems to be the start of some kind of revitalisation project for the franchise, considering there's also some CGI teaser for what's dubbed "Project 202X" that released recently that either seems to be for a video game or possibly even some reboot film/series. As long as it's not another pachinko game ffs

How would you feel if they discontinued it just after Raoh's defeat Captain Cadaver

Wouldn't be personally bothered, since Raoh's defeat is such a conclusive point of the series that even some official material likes to pretend the post-timeskip events aren't important, though I'd prefer they continued it despite its drop in writing quality when considering it is still a part of the series and the Ultimate Edition did include things such as the extra chapter in volume 11. Regardless of fan opinion on things such as the Shura Arc, it's not as if international material such as Ken's Rage 2 or the Discotek DVDs of the anime swept it under the rug anyway.

Was Dragon Ball Full Color officially dropped?

This sounds interesting. I know how much you like it, and I find your taste in entertainment to be in line with my own, more often than not. If this means high quality scans in English, I'll add it to the backlog.

I don't believe there was any official statement, though not continuing it for years when they've had all of Z there to release since 2014 is very telling.

If looking for a high-test action series with memorable characters and fast pacing, it's certainly one you'll like :panties. Probably best to drop it after Chapter 136 though since it's very conclusive and the post-timeskip events after it are pretty much a poorly put together milking of the manga that ruins several plot points and prior characters through multiple retcons. The post-timeskip events do have better art though, amongst some of the best in manga.

That whole bullshit ending with Bolge and the whole memory loss faggotry was completely stupid though. An embarrassing end to the series. Somehow Kenshiro losing his memories makes him struggle with common ass grunts even though after conquering Kaioh, his body should be more than hardened enough to defeat trash like them even without Hokuto Shinken.

Yeah, I completely agree. The fact remains though that it is part of the manga and there's no real reason to withhold it from the publication just due to its drop in quality, particularly for collectors and the like.

So I take it this will be hardcover with better paper quality than the typical Tankoban releases by Viz? I won't buy them because there's nothing worth reading after Falco's death or so, but for Hokuto otakus these releases should satisfy them then.
