Was Chi-Chi wrong for wanting Goku to provide for the family

Much of the fandom keeps talking as though it's a bad thing she expects those things. Maybe they're right..?

I mean, the story never empathizes these things are important as we're supposed to ignore Goku's an irresponsible man-child and the way the story portrays her for wanting these simple things (which were promised and owed to her) is rather problematic. For example, the first episode of Super (which is about her making Goku get a job to provide for the family which on the verge of poverty) depicts her as mostly yelling and money-hungry. Not a single moment for the audience to connect with her character.

By normal standards no, not at all. What person wouldn't want their spouse to help provide for their family, what parent doesn't want their kids to get an education and succeed? If they were a normal family than she wouldn't be wrong. Most fans don't like her bitching for what the series is about and that she has a husband who's an alien and fights to protect the Earth so she isn't part of a normal family.

She's more of a nag in the anime than the manga, but no, she's not, my mother was kind of the same way tbh lol.
