Much of the fandom keeps talking as though it's a bad thing she expects those things. Maybe they're right..?
I mean, the story never empathizes these things are important as we're supposed to ignore Goku's an irresponsible man-child and the way the story portrays her for wanting these simple things (which were promised and owed to her) is rather problematic. For example, the first episode of Super (which is about her making Goku get a job to provide for the family which on the verge of poverty) depicts her as mostly yelling and money-hungry. Not a single moment for the audience to connect with her character.
