Was Gohan enraged vs 3rd Form Freeza?

Context: after Freeza repels Gohan’s attack
Piccolo: “He bounced that back, but…You’ve become strong, Gohan…I’m happy…”
Gohan: “B-but it wasn’t any use…I put all my force into that, but…It didn’t affect Freeza…”

1) Piccolo acts as though it's Gohan's actual power.
2) There is no note of Gohan's power dropping down after going up against Freeza in this instance.

Considering Freeza also says after this attack that Gohan is getting stronger and stronger, it's plausible that his previous zenkai was still kicking in, kind of like how it took time for Vegeta's to kick in after Reacoom.

People think Gohan had a rage boost everytime he got really mad. It's not illogical to believe he got one when he thought Piccolo of all people was about to die again. I don't think they spell everything out all the time either, so I could actually go either way. Both work.

I think he was enranged, as his Masenko (?) gave plenty of trouble to 3rd form Freeza, whereas his post Zenkai self should be still a good chunk weaker that powered up 2nd form Freeza. Or his Masenko was just amplified by 2x or so, explaining how it did give a lot of problems to 3rd form Freeza.

Not to mention Freeza probably isn't aware of rage boosts like that, so of course he would say Gohan is getting stronger after that, he can't sense ki so it's not like he felt Gohan's ki before or after the attack.

Well let me ask you this..... Doesn't it KINDA annoy you when they say too much of the same shit over and over? Like, I swear to gawd, everytime during a new arc and they say "I've never felt a power like this before!" I just wanna and be like, yeah you said that before, and probably will again!...... And again!

I just dont think they always feel the need to spell everything out all the time, and for me, I think they were more focused on Freeza in general than whatever burst Gohan got because they knew either way after that, Freeza wasn't going down, then Freeza barley gave them time to breathe before he was like "Alright, final form?.... Final form!"

Yeah, it does. And while I agree, I just think Gohan's rage dropping off is something necessary to note, but that's just me. Half the other shit is pointless

Nobody commented on Gohan's power decreasing after he attacked 2nd form Freeza either, with Vegeta only remarking his power unbelievably shot up when he's enranged.

I don't think it would have mattered since gohan put so much power into that masenko that his power would have gone way down regardless

Him powering up after his zenkai only somewhat raised the hopes of standing up to a holding back 2nd form Freeza. To have threatened a far stronger Freeza even slightly, he has to be enraged here, not to mention he said pretty much what he did when he snapped and lost it against Dodoria.

Gohan is merely adequate unless he taps into rage. I think the only fights where he didn't rage and did well are:

- Gohan vs generic Frieza soldiers
- Ultimate Mystic Gohan vs Not So Super Buu
