I don't remember Gohan having that sparks when he fought Dabura but does it confirm the long debate about which Gohan's form he used against Dabura?

He had SS2 hair... No sparks, but Toei never understood what SS2 was so it's tough to tell. Vegeta was clearly a SS2 in the manga against Kid Boo, but in the anime there are no sparks.

Vegeta did have sparks though when he fought Pure Boo in the anime as well.

It doesn't confirm to some people, hence the extensive debate that's still going on.

I think a fine compromisse might be to assume that he was in an intermediate state... which is also implied by the visuals, as his hair is a little spikier and with one brand falling upon his forehead. So maybe he's benefiting from a higher multiplier than the simple SSJ's one, but still not quite the 100x one that all the complete-SSJ2s benefit from.

Son Gohan SSJ -- 3,000,000,000
--> Intermediate state -- 4,500,000,000
--> SSJ2 -- 6,000,000,000

In manga if they're SSJ2 they have sparks. In the anime it's a crapshoot to whether they have the sparks or not.

Gohan's hair is inconsistent even in the manga so that's not reliable either.
