Do you think Sanji was pathetic in the 1005 chapter?

Well, I think it's Oda trying to show us the human side of his character. No human has nerves of steel to receive all that punishment and not try to gather help. Robin and Nami have openly begged for help before, so why not Sanji? It's not like Sanji is losing due to being weaker either, it's merely his soft spot kicking in again.

What bothers me the most though is the repetition of the same trade that happened in Ennies Lobby. Well, at least it's Robin this time instead of Nami.

It seems we're getting to the well matched up opponents... I honestly preferred more unpredictability.

Simpji's been pathetic throughout the entirety of Part 2 at least, if not since after Enies Lobby. Nothing new here.

Sanji won't beat up a woman.

I don't even care about that. It's his constant idiocy that gets him into these situations. It's beyond pathetic.

Sanji not fighting women is fine. It's the entire rest of his character being flanderized post time skip that's the issue.
