Was Vegeta confident or nervous against Freeza?

After Freeza transformed, it is tough to read how Vegeta felt about his power. On one hand, he was acting pretty arrogant and was able to save Gohan from the Death Beam. On another, he was sweating like crazy, and was trying to hype himself up by believing that he was a Super Saiyan. What do you think?

I think both. Him becoming a "Super-Saiyan" wouldn't make him completely delusional, besides Piccolo also said that Vegeta has powered-up tremendously. He also has the showing to back that up (seeing Freeza's movements) Freeza was also somewhat surprised by his power, IIRC (before he sped himself up).

I think he probably was nervous, because he didn't know how much power Freeza was hiding. After-all Freeza had been a monster up-to this point (and constantly one-upping the heroes in a way), and all his transformations had greatly increased his power, so even if Vegeta himself got much higher, he wasn't sure whether Freeza was possibly even higher than that.

I think a bit of both. He was obviously powerful, but against Freeza he wasn't so sure. Him hyping the idea of Super Saiyan, as well as him appearing to be nervous show me Freeza was pretty close to him, if not stronger.

That one sweat mark seems so out of place considering what was coming out of his mouth.

Why? It could be interpreted as Vegeta showing confidence but still being nervous.

Or Vegeta was just being over confident. The sweat is important to show just how confident Vegeta actually was.

His words just seemed to come from a place of delusion. "I don't care if Freeza or anyone else comes at me. I've just become a Super Saiyan..!" He got a lot more powerful, but I still don't think he was really gauging Freeza that well.

None of his statements imply he was nervous.

Like I get the feeling that Vegeta (Post Dende) was> Freezer Fourth Form (Initial). Vegeta had much confidence in defeat Frieza and that was very arrogant to believe it was a Super Saiyan. In addition Krillin and Gohan also confident that Vegeta won the battle.

I think Vegeta was feeling a little bit of both.
