Is that the sequel to first season?

The Fate timeline is an overly convoluted mess to the point trying to explain to someone how to watch the series has become a meme in the fandom, so it's hard to say without having some in-depth knowledge of the franchise. From what I gather, it's some alternate timeline sequel of Fate/Zero or something like that, with the "main" timeline sequel being Fate/stay-night (neither of which are worth watching if wanting something good, but both work well as popcorn entertainment).

You're missing out on some top quality "logic" like this then.

You just fail to acknowledge the impressive philosophical undertones in the series.

"To be fair, you need a very high IQ to understand Fate. The plot coherency is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp on genderbended mythology most of the waifus will go completely over the viewer's head. There's also Shirou's existential outlook, which is deftly woven into his Gary Stu nature - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Gen Urobuchi direction, for instance. The fans understand this stuff, they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depth of these asspulls, to realise they're not just funny - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Fate truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Shirou's metaphysical line "Just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right," which itself is a cryptic reference to Urobuchi's epic Stroking of the Ego. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Type Moon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Saber tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎" - Gen Urobuchi after Fate/Zero concluded, probably.

Apocrypha is bad even for someone that likes Fate. If you want to watch a fate spinoff, watch the Waver spinoff "The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II".

The main timeline is Fate/zero - fate/stay night (all 3 paths) - fate hollow ataraxia. Everything else is an alternate timeline or universe. It's a lot easier to explain to someone than Gundam.

For Apocrypha it's right there in the name. Apocrypha is an alternate timeline where in the holy grail war before Fate Stay Night events were changed that caused Fate/zero to never happen. It's the same with the Kaleid timeline being an alternate universe after the events of fate/zero. Fate Extra is a game timeline.
