he can catch up soon. Five years later, Krillin's hits are casually dodged by Popo.

Skill can mean power, especially pre DragonBall Z. There were many instances where they were used seemingly interchangeably. In-fact, skill might have just got replaced by the word power in DragonBall Z. Makes sense, since Martial-Arts and if your skill-level is higher most likely means you can win.
