Manga-wise, do you think Roshi and co. (Yajirobe, Karin) were killed in Trunks' timeline?

But were alive after the androids' onslaught?

Seeing as Bulma managed to survive, it wouldn't surprise me if the other background characters survived too.

The TV Special shows Yajirobe being killed in the battle while Roshi survives living in a submarine next to his island with Puar and Oolong, and that's what I roll with.

No way of telling what happened to Karin, but given how the Present Androids have no clue about Kami's Lookout or Karin's Holy Land, I'd say he's alive.

I think they were probably just killed by Black.

Considering there's nothing going against how the TV Special portrays things, I'd say there's no reason to go against the idea of Roshi hiding away from #17 and #18 successfully. He'd probably have been killed by Black though or at most have lived up until Zen-Oh erased the timeline.

That's actually in the anime flashback when Trunks fights Perfect Cell. The TV Special never shows or mentions Yajirobe. Iirc, the flashback was cut in Kai, hence explaining why he was alive and well in the Super anime which primarily follows the Kai version of events.

Black and Zamasu wiped out all the Earthlings (except Mai and Trunks) before their final battle against Vegeta and Galu though (manga-wise).

Manga-wise, yeah. Wouldn't count on anime Black being competent enough to do so though :troll.

Roshi wasn't seen donating ki to asspull king Trunks' Genki Sword though, so he probably did die before Episode 67.
