Are they pseudo-kaioken amplifiers? Or is it just another way of saying they are going full power? What about Goku's 8-hands technique against Tenshinhan?

Goku seems to say that King Chappa is just moving his hands really quickly. But they gotta be using some sort of super speed ki amp technique for sure. His disappearing move and all of that.

WFF is def a ki amp for me.

From Daizenshuu 7:
Rouga Fuu-Fuu Ken [Wolf-Fang Wind-Wind Fist]
First Appearance: Chapter 8
Category: physical martial arts
People: Yamcha
Special Characteristics: A style of kenpo which the bandit Yamcha invented on his own. He moves just like a wolf trying to bite its opponent to death with sharp fangs. It’s a rapid-fire attack which uses punches and kicks, letting loose attacks which stress speed, then catching the opponent off guard to smash them with a single powerful, two-handed blow. In the land which he had marked off as his territory, he ends up in a battle with Goku and the others when he tries to take away their money and capsules, and uses this technique to knock out an empty-stomached Goku. (Daizenshuu 2, p.202/Daizenshuu 4, p.114)
  • Shin~
    First Appearance: Chapter 117
    People: Yamcha
Special Characteristics: The Rouga Fuu-Fuu Ken powered up through Yamcha’s intense training under Kame-sennin. The technique’s cut and speed had become many levels sharper than before. He brought this technique out during his match with Tenshinhan at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai, but it wasn’t very effective.
Hasshu-Ken [Fist of Eight Hands]
First Appearance: Chapter 115
Category: physical martial arts
People: Son Goku, King Chapa
Special Characteristics: A style of kenpo where he attacks his opponent with rapid movement that makes it look like he has eight arms. Goku acquired this technique during his fight with King Chapa at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai, and used it to counter Tenshinhan’s Shiyoken in their fight soon after.

They're both fighting styles. WFF sounds like Yamcha letting it loose and I guess you can interpret it as some kind of boost (Though not a power level/Ki boost, otherwise he wouldn't have failed to learn the Kaio-Ken, it's more like Yamcha going FP), Chappa is just moving his hands really fast.

I think it’s a technique that powers up Yamcha, he shouldn’t be stronger than Goku.

Didn't Yamcha lose both times he fought Goku?
He lost the second one. Yamcha doesn’t have some mysterious problem with achieving his full power that’s not the narrative. He’s exceptionally skilled ki wise and learns Kamehameha before Krillen and makes a move even superior to Kamehameha with his Spirit Ball. He’s definitley st full power, he just gets a slight ki amp from his technique.

WFF doesn't use ki, it's a martial arts move. The use of ki was quite rare back in early Dragonball, that was one of the reasons the Turtle Hermit and Crane schools were so renowned.

It's not that Yamcha has some problem using full power, he just likes to pretend he's a wolf when he does so.

I mean you can still differentiate "Base/Initial" Yamcha from WFF Yamcha if you want to, but to say it's like Kaio-Ken is simply not the case. It's more like a power up.

1. When Krillin, at the 22nd TB, said he and Yamcha are equal in strength, did he mean WFF Yamcha ~ Krillin or Yamcha ~ Krillin < WFF Yamcha?

2. Did Yamcha use the WFF the second time he fought Goku?

@Hector

1. He meant Yamcha himself not WFF, when they talk about Gokus power they don’t mean his Kamehameha, they mean Goku.

2. No

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the second fight (to show how much better Goku fared when not hungry)?
Yamcha is planning on unleashing his Wolf Fang Fist for Round 3 on multiple occasions thinking it can turn the tide.

I don’t think the Kamehameha comparison is fair. The WFF becomes Yamcha’s own power. The Kamehameha is more external, like a weapon. In that way it’s can be compared to Kaio-Ken.

I think the WFF was meant to be a tribute to those martial arts movies where each school has an animal as a symbol. It’s his fighting style.

Fair enough. But all in all, it’s definitely a ki app. It’s Kaioken 1.1x

It’s hardly a boost and nowhere close to as powerful as the original Kaioken, so one has nothing to do with the other.

Not a Ki boost, a stats boost, but I’m just arguing semantics here. Yamcha using the WFF > Yamcha without the WFF.
