What did you think of the fusion in Budokai 3?

And maybe Budokai 2 too (I never played that).

Where there's not a separate slot for the character, but it's a skill you can use mid-battle and they can fuse. The fusions usually were much higher than most anyone-else in the game, but for fusion dance only a very limited time even more-so if you used Super-Saiyan 3.

I liked the way it was utilisied in this game. I prefer how later games allowed the fusion to be selected as a character from the start, though those later games did sacrifice the unique aspect of a limited fusion time that make them seem less balanced, especially when the Tenkaichi series implemented fusions formed mid-battle as having heightened stats to their regular chosen selves. I also preferred how the Budokai series brought in the option of a fusion failing to offer more interactivity.

So you get to fuse and get a boost and not defuse, if it's anywhere as significant as in the Budokai series that'd be OP.

I found it hard though at times to even get the fusion to start because of the dragon-rush thing IIRC but when you get it done right it's worth it because the boost is insane and you have infinite teleporting. Only lasts like 20 seconds or so though l0l.

It's not quite as large as that, but they do get a buff to their attack, defence and Ki charging time.

You don't actually need to do a Dragon Rush, only to go into hyper tension and press the button usually used for launching ultimate attacks.

Oh yeah, that's what I meant. I forgot the terms though so I mixed-up. That was a pain though because it was so slow and before you know it the opponent was already gone. At first I also used to sort-of panic when the quick button thing came-up because I thought I had to do it immediately or time could run-out, eventually I could do it OK though.

I liked it, but preferred how Budokai 2 did it. You would remained fused even when the timer ran out as long as you don't get hit.
