What do you rate Battle City?

What do you rate the Battle City arc out of 10, and what were your opinions on it in general?

With the Noah bullshit, 2/10.

Without it, I guess it's tolerable if you watch it in Japanese. 4/10

About 3-4 out of 10. The strategies were good in duels such as Yugi's duels with Doll/Strings and Pandora/Arkana, especially with the fleshing out of the system through the Battle City rules making it's internal logic a lot stronger, though there was still too many overused Shonen cliches such as Jonouchi/Joey having superhuman stamina, something as hax as Ishizu seeing the future amounting to 's lifelong accomplishments on the scale of worth, Yami Marik just being evil for the sake of evil and it being made apparent that Yugi would win from the start because of protagonist plot armour.

Still an improvement from Duelist Kingdom due to not having as much Heart of the Cards bullshit in it's finale, and the best arc of the series (original at least. Didn't watch anything after that other than dropping GX 5 episodes in) but far from high quality.

Great story, duels that made more sense than duelist kingdom (with the exception of Joey vs Mako Tsunami) and not much card overpowering (with the exception of Soul Exchange). For some reason, interrupting the arc for the sake of Noah's story was exciting too.

I think it's one of the better arcs of the whole Yugioh anime, but I'd say it's probably the best of Duel Monsters.

Probably the strongest arc of the original anime in terms of consistency and developing supporting characters. Marik was a weak antagonist in the 4kids dub, though, and all the friendship bullshit was off the charts.

I'm currently re-watching the whole series, so I'll have a more accurate rating later. But off the top of my head, it's probably almost a 9/10 for sure. It has some of my favorite duels. Yami Bakura specifically is amazing in that arc.
