What form was Vegeta at Cell Games?

Semi mastered Super Saiyan.

Regular Super Saiyan, but with minimal strain (not as little as MSSJ though). His muscles are much smaller than against Semi/PC, there was only one transformation sequence (and every instance of someone using Grade 2 required 2 transformations) and his aura is unmistakably the same as SSJ1 Goku's. Plus, it was already agreed upon that the grade forms were useless and obsolete. Dunno why some people actually think this was Grade 2. It'd be like arguing SSJ3 can have short hair.

Seriously though, there's no need to assume it was anything other than SSJ or a near-mastered version of it for reasons already mentioned. Vegeta also acknowledged the advantages of Goku's new form, so he'd definitely try and take the same route rather than relying on the usage of SSJ and the Grade forms he already had.

ASSJ, as stupid as it is he never got Mastered. Hell, even in Battle of Gods he was yet to surpass SSJ2 in the 20 years since GT.

To be fair, I doubt Vegeta would want to try attaining a form with shitty stamina when he was smart enough not to bother using Grade 3 against Cell.

This gives insight on how Toei, , and real DB writers actually view Vegeta. Vegeta is really lionized in the west, while I think he's really meant to be more of a patsy than a badass in reality.
