The chicks in battle city didn't suffer from plot induced stupidity and won their matches, making the finalists Yugi, Joey, Mai and Ishizu.
How does the rest of the tournament play out?

They'd still lose because shonen is sexist.

Even though Blue-Eyes was born from an Egyptian girl and the fusion of the Gods was some goddess of creation :king

Speaking of, the individual gods are probably females too since Horakhty was. That's right, every time you look at Obelisk's bigass pecs you were actually looking at her tits :king

Did Ishizu suffer from PIS? Her loss seemed more because she relied a little too much on her Millennium Necklace to beat Kaiba, and if Kaiba didn't have that vision of Blue Eyes warning him not to attack with Obelisk than she would've won.

Mai on the otherhand, yeah PIS is what did her in. Instead of attacking with her Harpies, she wanted to summon Ra which VERY easily backfired on her.

I mean, Ishizu could've just killed Kaiba with the two monsters she had, there was no reason to summon the third one :idk
Heck, she could've just switched her monsters to defense mode and then just waited around for Kaiba to run out of cards.

Ishizu seemed like she relied too much on the future the item showed her when she knew Kaiba's facedown was of no threat to her, so she goaded him into summoning Obelisk... which is more her overreliance on her magic power backfiring than true PIS. If anything, the fact that Kaiba can defy the future because his past self had some connection to the Rod and Blue Eyes is what's truly PIS in this instance.

Mai's loss was BS in the anime since she held her own against Marik well even after he started actually damaging her life points, but in fairness in the manga Marik doesn't play stupidly for half the duel and the Harpies can't attack on the turn she plays Elegant Egotist (apparently in BC rules both Fusion Summoned and Special Summoned monsters can't attack immediately manga-wise), so her summoning Ra isn't so dumb in that instance. Plus, in both continuities she wanted satisfaction in beating Marik with his own god card, soooo... she was just an idiot which Marik exploited well enough by not revealing she can't even release Ra :ladd

Marik is a very shit duelist, he almost lost every match he was in. Hell he was going to lose to Joey but he passed out. I'm basing this off the anime btw, I never read the manga.

I don't think Marik is THAT bad, honestly. Marik losing like 2700 life points against Mai was mostly anime-only which is mainly because the manga's rules don't line up with the OCG and the duel was overly violent in the manga (Marik's head got knocked off when Mai destroyed his Makyura in the manga lol) so it had to be heavily edited. He still defeated Bakura who's one of the better duelists in the anime and tooled Joey pretty much for most of the duel until he summoned Jinzo and Gilford which destroyed Marik's traps and monsters which is a pretty huge loss.

But yeah, he does play overconfidently and the author put him in a situation where the opposing duelist does something stupid way too often like Bakura placing Ra in the graveyard for Marik to use against him and the aforementioned Mai thing.

Marik only beat Bakura because he wasn't able to summon the Celtic Guardian :CC

Then Bakura is the true shittiest duelist for not bringing the only card able to defeat Ra in battle :troll :troll

Ishizu wouldn't have been able to beat anyone with a connection to the past, so she'd most certainly lose to Yugi, if not simply because he'd out-duel her and he'd have 2 God Cards to do it with.

Mai would get knocked down by Joey if he didn't allow her to win because vagina. He did better against Marik, who while toying, was at least taking him more seriously and giving him a compliment here and there once Joey began to disrupt his strategies. Mai was fodder to Marik regardless.

The females simply didn't match up with the males here.

Yugi would've probably withdrawn from the tournament and gone to fight Marik somewhere. Ishizu withdraws as well,
since she has no longer any reason to be there. Therefore, the final match is Joey vs Mai, which Mai probably wins
unless Joey gets a plot victory.

Yugi would still win and Joey is better than both of them.
