What in HxH disappointed you the most?

Challenged by to make a HxH thread so here it is I guess

What happened or didn't happen in HxH that led to you being disappointed?

For me it was definitely the Phantom Troupe in the Greed Island arc. They really made it seem like Feitan and Phinks were going to be important in that arc but they barely did anything at all and as a big fan of the Phantom Troupe members, Feitan especially, it was pretty disappointing.

The asspull of Alluka/Nanika's complex rules of wish granting and their repercussions being made redundant because their love for Killua allowed them to screw the rules.

Meruem dying, as I entertained an interaction between him and Hisoka.

What CC mentioned is easily the biggest one. Alluka's existence in general is disappointing, but there was no way Togashi would allow Gon to remain in that state so it is what it is.

Greed Island as a whole is the biggest piece of wasted potential in this series, I think. You have a brand new, genuinely interesting new world with new rules, but you spend the bulk of it on regular nen training again and hardly take advantage of the setting. The setting was just used to push a few elements of the plot forward and that's it.
