In response to Captain Cadaver's challenge. :mikey

Which Budokai in DB was your favorite? Mine is without a doubt the 22nd Budokai. I enjoyed things like the Crane School and Turtle Hermit rivalry, Roshi passing down the torch, and fights with Chaozu/Krillin and Ten/Yamcha. I don't care as much for the 23rd TB because I don't like how high the stakes are - I prefer the 21st and 22nd since they feel more "relaxed", like it's just a tournament for fun or for a rivalry and not for the sake of the world.

Easily the 21st TB. Had the most variety in it's cast, with some fairly engaging side characters such as Namu and easily the closest climactic battle in the entire series. 22nd TB lacked it's variation, had less character engagement with it's main conflict being Ten wanting to avenge Taopaipai and such a goal being so thin he abandoned it fairly quickly and Kuririn not being as engaging as his confidence lacking self in the 1st tournament, plus the finale felt like a step down due to having nothing close to an Oozaru transformation or Moon Busting. 23rd TB was easily the worst due to not having a theme that made confining it to a tournament necessary and overall had a lot of plot holes and strange character decisions such as Kami contradicting his reason for not killing Daimao when he attempted to kill Piccolo or Goku believing he could revive Kami with the DBs only to state later he knew he couldn't.

Also liked the 21st TB the most. Had the most comedy and light-heartedness. The first one also had like CC said the most variety in cast. In the 22nd TB, you mostly only had Goku and friends and then Tsuru-sen'nin and his school, everyone-else was just side-show like Chapa-o and so-on. Also being the first I thought it was kewl to see everyone's improvements, especially Kuririn who started-out really low compared to Goku but became respectable power-wise by the 21st TB.

22nd tournament for me. I really enjoyed the rivalry going on too. I mean there were great build ups, awesome suspense, and incredible fights. Yamcha vs Tien is one of my favorite fights in the whole series in general. Goku vs Tien and Roshi vs Tien are both awesome fights. Chiaotzu vs Krillin is good and Goku's stomp to Krillin was amazing. Like, even the fights of Man-Wolf vs Roshi and Goku vs Pamputt were good. Well, specifically vs Pamputt. Man-Wolf was just a parody fight tbh.

I actually like the U7/U6 tournament probably because it's because I just watched it recently. It's been a long time since I watched the early DB Budokai so...
