What was your toughest Pokémon battle?

Mine was in Soul Silver when it first release (2009) and it was Whitney and her Milktank.

Given the fact most, if not all of my Pokemon were male, Milktank using attract was a living nightmare. My Pokemon couldn't attack for half of the battle

My strongest Pokemon was my starter, Quilava and Milktank can uses rollout, which is super effective against fire types. Needlessly to say, a lot of potions were use up.

Also, Whitney has two super potions, so if Milktank is in the red bar, it can heal and it can uses milk drink. As a result, my Pokemon's PP were getting closer to 0.


So yeah, it was my toughest battle since back in 2009, I didn't know about the internet until later in the year. So I couldn't look up a strategy on how to win. I've to overpower my way to win with a level 28 Quilava.

Whitney in Gen 2 as well as Red. Red was only hard because I was young as fuck and thought I could beat him with one well trained Pokemon and some legendaries.

Whitney (Because Miltank + Rollout + Milk Drink + Stomp + Attact + Male Pokémon = VERY hard time)

I think I got 3 myself in HG. I remember beating Palmer, Thorton, and the hot girl in the yellow shirt (Please don't hurt me Braixen, my heart belongs to you now and always).

Although I'm glad we have the Battle Tree now. The Battle Frontier was something I felt like I was working so hard for so little.

The only real trouble I had was Clair's Kingdra in HG when I decided I wasn't going to grind my team for once. My guys were around level 35 or so when I challenged her.

Slaking is a wall/cannon to pretty much anything you catch in game or have at that point unless you do some SERIOUS grinding thanks to having Uber Legendary level stats, especially when all of the Hoenn Starters are Physical Attackers (Although Sceptile can do both, by the time you get to Norman with a Sceptile, it'll be 2nd stage and have mostly physical moves). You can't give it a Status Ailment because it's packing façade, in the remake it has retaliate which is pretty much a OHKO when it joins the battle. Although in the originals it's somewhat easier since his Slaking will mostly try to go for Focus Punch. Sabrina because psychic-types in Gen1 were absurdly broken.

Hoenn= Biggest grind

I recall Norman being tough if you didn't choose Torchic.

Drake in Emerald kicked my ass pretty hard the last go round I had with Emerald. Mostly because the team I had was not very well equipped to take down his Dragon types with any kind of ease.

Drake was an absolute cunt the first time I played him in Ruby. I started with Treecko and honestly didn't even know that Dragon types existed, so I got stomped over and over.

Pretty much my experience. It took my Kadabra getting to a high enough level to one shot his dragons with Psychic before I could finally move past him.

I got stomped repeatedly against him and Steven too because I stubbornly insisted on using Fire types against him. It was also gay how the only dragon types besides Salamence (which is annoying as hell to find in the main quest) were Flygon and fucking Altaria, so you needed to rely on Ice types and shit.

I found the dragon guy in X and Y hard as well but he was my fourth and I was beaten up.
