--By this time, Bibidi’s son Babidi had found his father’s notes and planned to resurrect Majin Boo, using Boo to take over the Dragon World. He uses his magic powers to manipulate strong warriors with evil hearts, making them into his servants. The most important recruit he gets is Dabra, the strongest being in the Demon Realm, and its so-called king. Dabra sends one of his underlings to investigate the Earth, the resting place of Boo’s ball. The investigation shows that there are no beings on Earth powerful enough to resist them. However, due to the extreme length of time Boo has been left sealed, a stupendous amount of untainted energy is needed to revive him. Apparently because of this setback, it is 300 years before Babidi and his followers’ plan to revive Boo goes into action.

Chapter 449 mentions Dabra’s underling investigating Earth 300 years ago, so this is that long before Age 774 (translations of both the manga and the Daizenshuu 7 timeline tend to gloss over that Dabra himself didn’t personally investigate Earth). So Dabra must have been serving Babidi and Babidi must have been trying to revive Boo for that long, though it’s not specified exactly when they started. Chapter 446 mentions that the need for large energy to revive Boo is because of how long he’s been sealed. Chapter 447 explains about Dabra. Dabra’s relationship to the Makaios or Makaioshins, if any, is so far unspecified.]

Probably not all the time. They most likely went to other planets after discovering the amount of energy needed to revive Boo.

Hmm interesting. Though it doesn't provide much information. It doesn't specify he has been gathering energy from only on earth. Giving that Trunks's timeline is like 17 years from the main timeline, Babidi could've started during the time the Boo Arc would had taken place, while the Androids were reckoning havoc on earth.

Maybe I'm looking into this too much. Oh well, someone has to.

When Babidi mentioned the energy that Lord :bitch and Yamu had provided, as well as bringing there, he said "As I expected". Assuming this refers to both actions and not just the former, it could be that Babidi was anticipating Shin and Kibito appearing at the Budokai to track him, and would therefore have found moderately strong fighters to aid them against Babidi.

That, and Babidi didn't seem to be treating the Budokai competitors as his last supply, since he was shocked himself at how over half of Boo's meter was full from the energy provided.
