When were you hooked when reading Berserk?

When you were reading this series, at what moment were you hooked and knew this was the series for you? For me, I'd say Black Swordsman Arc, that's the arc I started with and it's probably my favorite arc. I thought it was a great introduction to Guts and I was in love :faggots with the series. In the Golden Age arc I was pretty hooked there when Guts first fought Bazuso (that's his name I think). How about you guys?

I had already watched the anime beforehand, so I was hooked on the manga from the start. If I were to look back in retrospect as to when the series truly started to show it's quality, then either the events or Griffith's true friend speech.

It's been so long since I read it that I don't really remember. Almost the entirety of the series up the Eclipse had me hooked though. It wasn't until returning to the present day that I lost interest in the series. And then we were on the boat and releases came farther and farther apart.

I started on the first chapter of the Golden Age, so really at that point.

Never. Anime was good, so maybe Band of the Hawks would have had me.
