How would Whitebeard fight the swordsman? I think he knew Jozu was going to tank the first attack, so he didn't do shit, but how could he counter it? I feel like that weapon he holds would get destroyed.

Maybe, but I think he'd counter using his fruit attack just fine.

I think WB's sheer force makes he and Mihawk a bad matchup. Like how a Glaive fighter would lose to sword fighter in a war because of the reach, even if the sword fighter is more skilled.

He'd encase his spear with his fruit power like he did before.

Whitebeard's fruit power shatters Hawkeye's sword.

I'm sure exactly when WB used his fruit power with his pole thing but he did do it.

As for the post, I'd say Whitebeard wins, cause while Mihawk is called the strongest swordsman, Whitebeard was called the strongest man.

He used it pretty much the whole time at Marineford.

If he can't shatter Akainuts' bones then he wouldn't shatter Mihawk's sword

WB would win though

So long as we don't factor WB's poor health into this, he wins. If we do, it could go either way, though I'd probably still give WB the benefit of the doubt based on how he was performing against Akainu whilst heavily wounded compared to a relatively fresh Akainu.
