Like for example, Vegeta from Saiyan-Freeza Arc has a lot of fans that it actually made him popular enough for Toriyama to not killed permanently like he intended to do. I think Vegeta is right up there in the conversation imo.

What about you guys? You can choose any characters from any part of series.

Depends in what way we're talking. As far as plot relevance and consistent character writing, it'd definitely be Vegeta throughout the entirety of Z (as well as GT to some extent) for reasons I already elaborated on in-depth in the thread in which I analysed his character. As far as individual character arcs though, I'd say Piccolo's character arc during the Saiyan Arc is another major contender though.

Didn't you say that Vegeta's character post Freeza arc took a huge downhit or something? Also I agree about Piccolo too.

That was a long time ago. I recently re-evaluated his character and looked deeper into it in this thread. Long story short, his actions in the Cell and Boo Arcs are far more consistent with his character than they'd appear at face value.

Excellent. List your top 5 characters then.

In terms of personal favouritism:

#1 - Muten Roshi
#2 - Vegeta
#3 - Bardock
#4 - Kuririn
#5 - Piccolo

In terms of which ones I consider objectively to be the most well constructed, however:

#1 - Vegeta
#2 - Son Goku
#3 - Kuririn
#4 - Piccolo
#5 - Bardock

That's not counting their run on Super though, in which pretty much all those characters were ruined. :troll2

The first time I watched the anime, Namek Vegeta is the character I was drawn to the most. From being defeated on Earth, to becoming vastly more powerful on Namek, disrupting a lot of Freeza’s plans, his constant lust for becoming the Super Saiyan.. it made for an interesting arc.
