Who has a better introduction? Trunks or Beerus?

Trunks definitely made an impression when he was first introduced, he seemingly came out of nowhere and defeated Freeza in a matter of seconds. However, when Beerus came, he introduced an entirely new concept, Super Saiyan God, and displayed some of the craziest feats when he finger flicked Goku SSj3, humiliated all the Z-Fighters and actually beat Goku at the end of the film.

Who had a larger impact on you?

IMO it was Beerus.

Trunks for me. The way he just showed up and manhandled Freeza was just super hype. Not just that, but the story he tells Goku shows that he's obviously not some invincible guy that just decided to help them. Instead, we see that he needs their help to change his own disastrous future. It's probably the best impression of any of the characters for me.

Trunks, probably. But I guess he was kind of sacrificed to make other characters like Goku and the androids look good...

BoG-wise, Beerus. I believed his awakening in the film gave a good insight into his character within a few minutes. Super-wise, I'd say Trunks wins. I wouldn't count Beerus' fights as part of his introduction, considering the main ones started happening 4 episodes after he was introduced. I'd only count his partial destruction of a Planet, which isn't really that impressive at this stage.

Trunks hands down. I didn't give two shits when Beerus arrived. He was just a purple cat.

I like just about everything about Beerus except for him existing in dragonball. Time travel doesn't need foreshadowing, universal godlike beings? Might want to mention that in your lore now and then.

It's more than obvious that Beerus is not cannon.

I thought that the introduction of Trunks was completely unnecessary and stupid. Akira Toriyama recently invented the new concept of Super Saiyan, and it was with the introduction of Trunks, did he begin to start crapping on that concept. A few short chapters later, everybody can turn Super Saiyan, and rival or surpass it's power without even being one.

With Beerus, everything had grown old by that point. Super Saiyan was a concept that was beginning to lose it's impact, and so many greater levels than just Super Saiyan were introduced, he needed something different. So he introduce the concept of Super Saiyan God and introduced a new character whom was capable of besting Goku Super Saiyan 3 with the utmost ease, which was essentially Toriyama's way of saying 'Hey I'm done with Super Saiyan, and here's how the old concept of Super Saiyan compares to the new one'. Not only did Toriyama completely change Dragonball forever, he completely dismissed concepts that were weighing the series down.

Beerus has the better introduction by far.

Trunks's introduction was the most badass by far. He just appears and destroys the strongest man in the universe and its father.
Beerus's introduction was probably better when we talk about the story though
