Why Are Dragon Ball Fans So Negative?

I'm generally a negative person, and I definitely don't think Dragon Ball is some sort of holy gift immune from critique, but some "fans" seem to take their hatred too far.

You know who I mean. The guy who constantly talks about how shit everything is, yet they spend an unhealthy amount of time on forums, especially (oddly enough) Dragon Ball forums (y'know, that shitty serious that's overrated and crap?) I just don't understand it.

I don't like GT or Super, so I avoid them. I haven't watched Super in four or five months (maybe longer) and I barely even talk about it, yet I always see guys who are always shitting on it despite watching every episode. Why bother?

I can understand being critical, but if you don't like anything DBZ has to offer, why are you even here?

DB fans in general don't seem negative to me at all. That's a minority.
