Why didn't Alternate Cell wonder how his perfect form was defeated?

When Alternate Trunks meets his timeline's Cell, he says ''you were powerful in your
perfect form'' and Cell answers ''so you went to the past, that's how you know about
me''. But isn't it strange that that version of Cell didn't bother wondering how his
other self was defeated in his perfect form? Or did he just assume that Trunks
escaped the timeline without defeating Perfect Cell, leaving that timeline to its
fate?

He probably didn't think too much of it, especially since Trunks talked him up so high. Maybe he didn't even care to think about what happened. All he wanted was to achieve completion.

He thought he was dealing with the same Trunks that got his ass whooped by #18. He was too busy being cocky.

He didn't have a time to think about it. Or he just assume that Trunks and the Co were lucky to beat present Cell.
