Why didn't Luffy Bellamy Dressrosa

Why didn't Luffy use conqueror's haki on Bellamy when Bellamy was being controlled by Dooflamingo?

Surely if he wanted to be KOed he could let his guard down to the haki? Luffy would still have to figure out that it could work though.

Which I never really understood. Doflamingo treated him like a little pawn, yet he still respected him greatly for some reason.

I thought Bellamy wanted Luffy to just KO him? He didn't want to fight Luffy or even Dodo by then. No?

He respected him I guess because he still considered Dodo to be a great pirate and more importantly looked up to him since his youth so respected him for inspiring him.
