Why didn't SSJg3 Trunks try blasting Cell?

Since he had the power but not the speed within his movements, while not try firing blasts? I'm sure it wouodn't have its speed diminished.

It would probably take more time to charge up Ki blasts in a form that's basically him pumping up Ki and internalising it, plus his reactions slowing in general would mean the rate at which he could fire Ki blasts would be a lot slower too. On top of that, Cell was already far above what Trunks could achieve with Grade 2, so he'd have no trouble dodging the blasts regardless of if Trunks' Ki blast speed remained the same.

How so? Cell would be above grade 2 Trunks, not grade 3.

His reaction speed would be even slower than regular SSJ, so Cell would definitely see the blasts coming and dodge them. A more apt question would be why he didn't try doing an explosion move similar to Fat Boo that could cover a large enough radius so Cell couldn't dodge it.

Well, why'd his reaction speed be relevant to him firing a blast?

Because to fire a blast, he'd still need to make the necessary hand movements.

Who's reactions would be at least as competent as Grade 3's if we're being generous, and obviously far greater than Grade 3 in actuality.

Well, do we know whether Trunks' reflexes are even affected by the muscles? I think that a chi level should be what dictates one's speed reaction.

We clearly see that his muscles can't react fast enough to hit Cell. If his other reactions such as sight and targeting weren't affected, he could counter this by simply anticipating Cell's next movement rather than quickly coming to the realisation he had no chance of winning. In fact, Trunks' admittance of his inability rather than firing a Ki blast as this thread revolves around would serve to support his reactions not being enhanced by the form.

Well, not quite. In the 23rd Budokai Tenshinhan noticed how weighted Goku had the reflexes needed to keep up with him but his body couldn't match them. He was getting speedblitzed all the same.

Galu was wearing weighted clothing though, something a lot different from pumping your body with more Ki unnaturally, and he was still completely unable to hit Ten all the same and had to resort to removing that flaw.
