Why didn't the WG go after Rayleigh?

Kizaru said there were rumours of Rayleigh being on a specific island of Sabaody (he seems to say "on this island"). Why do you think they never sent someone to take him out? The PK's right-hand man, all on his own - you think that it wasn't worth the hassle?

Send CP0 and an Admiral....job done?

They have no idea he's gotten weaker. When Garp learns of his presence he speaks of Rayleigh in the same manner as Whitbeard, saying they cant take on two legends at once. Even if he is at Sabaody I feel like he would easily escape before being caught, seeing as he is only 1 man on an entire island. It would take a lot of resources to lock down the whole island to find a retired old man - who I think they realize doesnt pose much threat now.

When he first appeared he was at the slave auction so I doubt they can run in there and take someone if a Celestial Dragon may have interest in them.

It required the WG setting all their resources up to take on the Whitebeard Pirates and given how Prime Rayleigh was likely on Yonko tier, it'd take far too much of the Government's resources to take him down. Even now they know he's just Admiral tier, starting a full on conflict on an island the Tenryuubito frequent is far from a good idea.
