The :king is pure trash, so why would Vegeta care that Freeza didn't use his second form on him?

i guess bcoz he is vegeta's father & he thought if he made a comment like that abt his father he'd be angry, but vegeta didn't care :elmo :elmo :elmo

Never understood that, either. No point in boasting about knocking this scrub out. Even Vegeta knew it wasn't a big deal.

The way Freeza mentions this, it seems like he was a bit surprised that he was able to win without transforming. I'd like to think Freeza or one of his cronies measured King Vegeta's power at some point. Or maybe Freeza was expecting him to turn into some Super Oozaru or some shit. I dunno. Just seems odd when someone like Dodoria was already capable of doing that.

Vegeta's line directly after Freeza say that shows us that Toriyama wasn't trying to hype up the King's power or anything:

Vegeta: “Chih…! Don’t feel too good about yourself over that…I already surpassed the king’s power back when I was a kid…!â€￾

Might have just been to try and piss Vegeta off.

Everybody else was so weak compared to Freeza that he couldn't realize who was stronger than who. That's
why he viewed Ginyu as the strongest before fighting Goku.

To try to gets Vegeta angry, but he shown not to care. He downplay his father by saying he surpass him when he was a brat.
