Why does Gotenks have none of Goten's personality?

I agree. People just like him because he's Goku's son and he looks like Goku and he is a 7 year old Super-Saiyan, other-wise no-one would care for him. We only literally saw him in the last saga of the original DragonBall, at-least Trunks was there before in some-way.

I think Gotenks is really similar to Kefla IMO. Both fusions personality is dominated by only one individual ie Trunks and Caulifla but Goten and Kale seems to be nonexistent at all.

Same for Kibitoshin. Most likely, the fusion will only take on the personality of one fighter if one is naturally dominant over the other. This seems the case with Goten and Trunks, as prior to Boo's awakening, Goten just seemed to blindly go along with any idea Trunks had such as Mighty Mask or going to where Boo supposedly was.
