Why has the fandom turned Griffith into a monster?

I'm not referring to After the Eclipse here considering that he definitely turned evil there. But, pre Eclipse, it's just ridiculous. Griffith doesn't care about the Band of the Falcon, Griffith only cares about Guts, Griffith was pure evil, and recently I've found that some people think he raped Charlotte.

Why have these cropped up?

The feminists said Charlotte was raped.

Probably because those people tend to look at things very broadly and not analyse them much. It's clear Griffith did care for his comrades, as the weight of their deaths and him harming himself after getting sodomised and was also the aspect that triggered his acceptance of becoming Femto. It's just that Guts was the only one Griffith considered to be a friend, likely because his free will and desire not to be controlled was far greater than the other Band of the Hawk members, who were find with just living in Griffith's shadow.

Charlotte being raped is just bs. She clearly wanted it and is still loyal to Griffith. Griffith simply made the first move.

I think Griffith is evil. But nah he didn't rape Charlotte. He seduced her, but it's not like she didn't want him. She didn't bare any grudge, every scene she's been in since that was about how much she loved Griffith.

Griffith even says that he used the deaths of the Band of the Falcon mercenaries as motivation to reach his goal, that it would be the best way to make their deaths have meaning.

I don't get this thread, Gog. First you ask why people turned Griffith into a monster (implying it's something you are against, that is, you don't agree with people), then you completely destroy Griffith's character right after, saying he is pure evil? Unless you were just explaining the why of people turning him into a monster...

BTW, I don't think Griffith is evil, although he seems kind of indifferent to me... and he caring for his comrade's death always seemed kind of weird to me. He seems the kind of person who doesn't mind sacrificing people to reach his goal, and I admit I didn't understand that sncene with Casca in the lake, whereas he kind of seemed to care about his comrade's death.

You've misunderstood me. What I mean is by the fandom turning him into a monster is that they consider him to be pure evil, every single one of his actions being evil, etc. Essentially vilifying him.

Aside from saving Guts a couple times, what does he do that is good?
